My mother, Bonnie G., moved to SummerHouse Bay Cove in October 2013 at the age of 87. The decision was not an easy one. She was still living on her own and was getting very forgetful, no longer able to drive safely, or handle many everyday tasks but was very stubborn about not leaving her home. Finding Bay Cove was a godsend to me and after a few months of living there she adapted and found new friends and activities. Over the years there have been changes in owners and some team members but the core mission and values have not changed even as mom’s abilities have diminished. She is cared for. She still likes to walk, and while the distance is less they still ensure that she can take short walks. She is not a crafts person but loves to play bingo and penny pokino and they make sure she still gets to take part. As she ages they adapt to her needs which, I believe, has allowed her to remain in assisted living longer. I will always be grateful to Nancy and the caring team for making mom’s remaining years comfortable, for listening to her stories, for understanding her little stubborn streak and forgetfulness, and for doing the everyday tasks that allow her to retain her dignity and quality of life as she ages.

I have been a resident at SummerHouse Bay Cove for 3 years. I fell in love with the beautiful waterfront location. The community is always nice and clean, and the team is extremely accommodating to my needs. I love this community because it is so family oriented. I enjoy going on the monthly lunch outings, joy rides, and shopping trips. There is always something for me to do and stay active. I have built so many great relationships with other residents here, which motivates me to be more of a social person than I was before living in the community. The food is exceptional! There’s a variety of options to choose from as well as a bistro for the days I just want something light. I truly enjoy living at SummerHouse, I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Thank You!

I love living in the SummerHouse community because the team members really show a great interest in what we do as residents here. There are activities available all day, freedom to come and go as I please, and my apartment is such a peaceful place. Living here has allowed me to mingle with new people and develop great bonds with other residents. The location is one of the best aspects of living here because I am still close to my family. It is easy for them to visit me often. While living here my faith has become a lot stronger as well. I attend bible study and church services more regularly now and that really makes me happy. I am glad I chose SummerHouse as my senior living community.
